Waveland Bowl is located at 3700 N. Western Avenue and is only half a mile away from McKinley Family Chiropractic, which can be found in Chicago, IL. Waveland is considered to be the largest bowling facility in Chicago featuring 40 lanes with automatic scoring and programmable bumpers for children as well as a snack bar, a billiards room, and an arcade. Waveland Bowl has won several awards within the city and bowling industry, including being voted as “Chicago’s Best Bowling Center” two years in a row by City Search. In addition to open bowling, Waveland Bowl offers youth and adult leagues that are continually looking for individuals or full teams.

League Play

A bowling league is a group of teams that compete every week. Waveland Bowl has several different leagues to choose from, including traditional bowling leagues, or you can even form your own league. Team sizes vary by league but usually include three to five members and, depending on the league, can be all women, all men or a mixture of both. There are also leagues for youth and seniors alike. Each league sets up its own rules and prizes, although some are for serious bowlers while others are just about having fun. The great thing about bowling is the unique handicapping system that evens the playing field so every player has a shot at winning something. I’ve been suffering from strong upper back and neck pain, stretching down the nerves in my arms, since working from home with the onset of the pandemic. Before coming to McKinley Family Chiropractic, I spent thousands of dollars on massages and PT, but the pain was persistent. I was also seeing a chiropractor out in the suburbs, but the commute made it difficult to schedule appointments with frequency, so I only scheduled appointments when the pain got too severe. I wish I started coming to McKinley family chiropractic sooner! Within the first two weeks of the regiment , I felt vast improvement. I no longer have nerve pain, the muscles in my neck were a lot less tense, and my posture improved immensely. They’ve also helped me work through ongoing knee pain that has improved my running form! Moreover, the staff is very kind. I’m always greeted by my first name when I walk in the door and I feel comfortable asking the team any question about pain in the body. Note that the process requires several initial visits (I scheduled appointments 2-3x/week for the 12 visits), but then the visit frequency scales back once I had noticeable improvement. The office does accommodate this by having flexible hours (open until 7pm certain evenings, Saturday morning appointments are always available) and having an efficient schedule ( I rarely stay in the office longer than 10 minutes). I really appreciate Dr. McKinley’s holistic approach to health and wellness and would recommend anyone experiencing pain to visit McKinley Family Chiropractic.

I’ve had such a great time at McKinley Family Chiropractic! The staff is so welcoming and makes you feel right at home even when you’re having problems with your back. I’ve been here with them for about a month and I have nothing but good things to say about the staff and business. With my job I have a different schedule every day and the staff is very accommodating to it, as they have flexible hours so it’s super easy for me to come from work. I recommend coming here if you are having trouble with your back as Dr. Ray and Dr. McKinley have taken very good care of me!
