Before we get started with this weeks article I wanted to remind everyone about our awesome talk coming up on August 26th. Seats are filling up quickly so make sure to sign-up at the office if you haven’t already! So, for this weeks article we’re going to discuss treating your health like a safe. When you think of health, it’s a treasure that we have to keep in a huge safe so that it can be safe and protected.
Things like stress and eating poorly are thieves, robbing us of our health everyday. If we are not diligently trying to protect this great treasure, chances are we’ll lose it without warning.
Stress can be very bad for your health because of what we call “sympathetic dominance”. It’s when your body is constantly overloading the “fight or flight” response, which leads to overloading organic functions, fatigue and eventually disease. It’s very important to make sure that you can balance the parasympathetic (wine and dine) and the sympathetic (fight or flight) nervous system.
In other words, your nervous system is your greatest treasure and has to be protected. We can’t survive without the nervous system. When it’s in a state of dysfunction we’re not able to adapt to stressful situations. The best safeguard to prevent this from happening and keeping your nervous system safe is regular chiropractic care.
Chiropractors allow the nervous system to work at its optimum level. If you’re not seeing a Chiropractor, your safe might be the at risk of being robbed and your health can be taken away.
