To start this weeks blog it is always apparent to me on a day to day basis on how many people have forward head posture. I know all of you out there reading this blog can name at least one person that you know either on a personal level or in your workplace that has anterior head carriage. Here are some interesting facts about forward head posture that you don’t know about and is very important to know :

Forward head posture leads to long term muscle strain, disc herniation, arthritis and pinched nerves. Mayo Clinic, November 3, 2000
For every inch of forward head posture, it can increase the weight of the head on the spine by an additional 10 pounds. Kapandji, Physiology of Joints, Vol 3.
Even reading just these four facts you can see how detrimental it can be to the body if you have forward head posture. With forward head posture you can experience but not limited to, neck pain, shooting pain down the arms, headaches, tension between the shoulder blades.
Chiropractic is very beneficial in the correction of forward head posture. By retraining the spine you can get your spine back into shape and when it is, it creates all the issues that your experiencing that are associated with forward head posture to be alleviated.
So if you know of anyone that has forward head posture and might have some of these issues associated with it then you should highly recommend them to get their spines checked.
